54 Yard Roll of FF-582 Fusible Interfacing Tape

  • $9.50 / Roll

Woven polyester tape with heat-activated glue on one side. Past generations of garment-makers were required to hand stitch a non-fusible cotton tape along the edges of garments to strengthen the folding lines, but now there's a choice: stitch by hand as before, or use adhesive. We sell both options. (Use fusible tape, or choose one of our non-fusible edge tapes.) Pre-cut to 3/4", 1" and 2" widths; each roll contains 54.7 yards (50 meters).

The glue becomes adherent when steam or a hot iron is applied. To use, place it with the glue side down on top of the fabric where you would like to strengthen it, and then press with a hot iron for about 10 seconds before moving on to the next section. (If using an industrial iron it may be only 5 seconds. If domestic, it may take a bit longer for the glue to fully adhere.) As with all fusibles, it's always wise to use a press cloth between the tape and the iron.

This tape is included in our Fusible Interlining Sample Book
We also have a softer tape made from our FF-850 fusible here
