Even fabrics treated with adhesives (like fusible webbing, fabric glues, or spray adhesives) glide effortlessly through the blades without sticking. They're ideal for light to medium weight fabrics, and their sidebent design - first patented by Thomas Wilkinson in 1800 - allows the shears to rest flat against the tabletop, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted cuts.
